This privacy statement covers WSPA’s website at www.animalmosaic.org. the World Society for the Protection of Animals (UK Registered Charity Number 1081849) and WSPA Trading Company Limited.
This policy, together with our Term and Conditions sets out the basis upon which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide us, will be processed by us.
WSPA respects the privacy of all visitors to its websites and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is kept securely. The following questions and answers should help you to understand what information we collect, how it is used and what happens to it.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is the World Society for the Protection of Animals of 222 Gray’s Inn Road, London, WC1X 8HB.
What information do we collect?
We may collect and process the following information from you:
Non-Personal Information, such as IP address, operating system and browser type, pages viewed and files downloaded. This helps us to monitor site performance, determine how many people visit the site, identify what pages are most popular, and how regularly people visit, in order to improve the site.
For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service.
Personal Information, such as name, address, telephone number, email address, bank details etc. is only collected in connection with specific activities, such magazine subscriptions, feedback, newsletter request etc.
You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.
What happens to your personal information?
When you make a donation, membership subscription, a purchase or subscribe as a member via the site, we may need to collect information about you to process the transaction, and if necessary, fulfill your order and provide you with the products you expect.
This information may include, but is not limited to, details such as your name, your address and your credit card details. Unless we have your express consent we will only disclose personal data to third parties if this is required for the purpose of completing your transaction with us.
This is of course subject to the proviso that we may disclose your data to certain permitted third parties, such as members of our own group, our own professional advisers who are bound by confidentiality codes, and when we are legally obliged to disclose your data.
When submitting your personal information,you may be given the option to be included in mailings from WSPA or other like-minded organisations. If you do choose to receive mailings at this point, but later decide that you no longer wish to be contacted, you can inform us by emailing us.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes without your express consent.
Where is personal information stored?
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfillment of your order, the processing of your donation, membership subscription or payment details and the provision of support services.
By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. WSPA will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.
The Data Protection Act
Any personal information submitted via the www.animalmosaic.org website is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998). This means that you have a right to advise us at any time if you no longer wish to receive mailings from us or other organisations with whom we cooperate. You also have the right to access information held about you, and such access request may be subject to a fee of 10 GBP to meet our administration costs.

Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and so we request that you check it periodically.
